The Field Organizer I contacted in Columbus, Ohio, was eager to get our cards. She is part of Women for Obama/Women's Caucus Director, at the state hqs. of the Ohio Democratic Party. These postcards will go out to BOTH men and women, so men postcard writers are needed, too. Please do the following:
a. Write as many postcards as you want, with the message about why you are voting for Obama. Our contact advises that the two issues of the Economy and Health Care are the most important to Ohio voters.
Postcards can be any design on the front, or plain--whatever you like.
If you can't write these by hand, it's fine to type out labels with your message on it and stick
them on. Some of us are buying blank postcards already stamped, from the Post Office
Include this reminder: "Don't forget--Early voting starts on September 30."
Also identify yourself briefly (age, occupation, etc.)
Here is a sample message:
"Dear Ohio Voter,
I am a 70-year-old grandmother and teacher. Please join me in voting for Barack
bama for President. He is a unifier who can bring the country back, as well as a wise statesman, able to deal with our problems of Iraq, the economy, health care, education and the environment. And please remember that early voting starts on September 30 in Ohio.
Tela Zasloff,
Williamstown, MA"
b. Put one postage stamp on the front of each card.
c. Mail your cards in one package, to the following name and address. Their office will address the cards and mail them.
