Virginia

Here's our third contact, an Obama field organizer in Richmond, Virginia. He says that they welcome our cards, which should be personally written, as we've been doing with Ohio and PA. He describes the Richmond area as strongly for Obama within the city but quickly more Undecideds as you hit the rural areas. So this is a good place in VA to send our cards. Virginia is still kind of a toss-up between Obama and McCain but it's Obama's best chance of winning a state from the South. Let's go get 'em, those VA voters.

So, here are the Instructions for VIRGINIA.

a. Write your postcards with the message about why you are voting for Obama. Postcards can be any design on the front, or plain--whatever you like. If you can't write these by hand, it's fine to type out labels with your message on it and stickthem on. Some of us are buying these already stamped, from the Post Office.

Also identify yourself briefly (age, occupation, etc.)

Here is a sample message:

"Dear Virginia Voter, I am a 70-year-old grandmother and teacher. Please join me in voting for Barack Obama for President. He is a unifier who can bring the country back, as well as a wise statesman, able to deal with our problems of Iraq, the economy, health care, education and the environment.

Tela Zasloff, Williamstown, MA"

b. Put one postage stamp on the front of each card, unless you've bought them already stamped.
c. Mail your cards in one package, to the following name and address. Their office will address the cards and mail them out to voters:

1208 West Marshall
